Property ownership under tenancy in entirety, which only exists in few states and countries, is quite similar in some aspects to joint tenancy. First, tenancy in entirety carries with it a right of survivorship; second, the co-owners share an equal, undivided interest in the property. The only difference is that tenancy in entirely can only be created in the existence of marriage. That is, it can only be entered into by a husband and wife.

Tenancy
For instance, if a married couple register their domestic residence under tenancy in entirety, the ownership of the property is treated as though the owners are a single person. Neither spouse can sell or get a loan against the property without the other spouse’s approval. When one of the spouse dies, the other automatically receives full title to property.
